On Saturday, September 28th 2013, the Long Beach Island Fishing Club hosted the 67th annual World Series of Surf Fishing Tournament.  The tournament Chair, Bob Burstein, asked me if I would photograph the event.

Before we get to the photos, a little statistics are in order.

The tournament hosted 60 teams made up of 286 anglers and 17 anglers not on a team.  Throughout the day, the anglers caught a total of 210 fish, made up of 106 kingfish, 96 bluefish, two red drum, one weakfish and a few other species.

      • CTS with 14 fish for 175 points
    • 2nd Place
      • SURF-n-LAND-A with 12 fish for 148 points
    • 3rd Place
      • South Jersey Surfcasters-B with 10 fish for 140.75 points
    • 4th Place
      • AngleSea-A with 12 fish for 139 points
    • 5th Place
      • Merchantville Fishing Club-B with 9 fish for 132.75 points.

        • George Anbriel on Team Virginia Beach Anglers-B for a 23.5″ red drum f
      • 2nd
        • Jeff Smith on Barrington Rod and Reel with a 21.5″ red drum
      • 3rd (Four way tie)
        • John Jones with an 18.5″ bluefish.
        • Dave Hysek with an 18.5″ bluefish.
        • Dom Savasta with an 18.5″ bluefish.
        • Dave McVeigh with an 18.5″ bluefish.
    • Most Fish
      • 1st
        • Dante Soriente of Team CTS with 8 kingfish totaling 96 inches
      • 2nd
        • John Jones of the South Jersey Surfcasters-B with two kingfish and two bluefish totaling 58.5 points,
      • 3rd
        • John Grome of the South Jersey Surfcasters-A with four bluefish totaling 57.75 points.

        • Lynda Graves of the NJ Beach Buggy Ass. for a 20.5″ bluefish
      • 2nd
        • Arlene Perkowski of Women’s Surf Fishing Club-Awith a 14.25″ kingfish

        • Susan Boehret of Women’s Surf Fishing Club-A with a13.75″ kingfish.
    • Most Fish
      • 1st
        • Susan Boehret with 4 kingfish for 48.5 points
      • 2nd
        • Arlene Perkowski with two kingfish for 27.75 points
      • 3rd (Two-way tie)
        • Dawn Hennhaffer (Misfits) and Andrea Tambruino (Women’s Surf Fishing Club-A) both with two kingfish totaling 24.5 points.
